Experienced Trial Lawyer and Appellate Lawyer
One aspect of my practice that is very unique is my experience as both a trial lawyer and appellate lawyer. Most of the criminal defense attorneys who excel at trials do not handle criminal appeals. They don't necessarily like research and writing which can be a big part of the trial process. I do both and I excel at both. I believe strongly that my knowledge of the appeals process and research and writing provides clients with a decided advantage in cases that go to trial.
A Strong Motions Practice
An essential part of my criminal defense practice, and any criminal defense practice, is motions practice. Depending on the facts of your case, I will make motions to suppress illegally obtained evidence, to dismiss charges and other vital motions. When successful, a motion to suppress evidence can result in a dismissal of the charges against you. Other times, a motion to suppress or motion to dismiss can be used as leverage to negotiate a favorable plea bargain. Regardless, I have the experience to prepare and present motions to the court in order to give clients a better chance of success in their case.
